Kerry Wheatley
FInstAM, Cert CII
Company Founder and Operations Director
Kerry started out in the profession as an Administration Assistant in a small provincial Broker in Quinton, West Midlands back in 1990. Through hard work and a positive attitude, Kerry soon progressed to the positions of Personal Lines Account Handler and then Commercial Account Handler.
In October 2005, Kerry joined a local new start-up Broker as their PA/Commercial Account Handler, whereby she dealt with staff, clients, insurance companies and managed a small team. Kerry, together with two Directors helped this to become a successful business for nearly 10 years before this was sold to a large UK brokerage.
Having worked for the large national broker for 4 years, Kerry along with her husband, Chris Wheatley and Co-Director, decided they wanted to take back control of how they service their clients and really focus on how they could keep on improving, hence why Kerry and Chris decided to form “Wheatley’s Insurance Brokers”.
Despite having over 32 years of General Insurance experience, Kerry opted to undertake examinations via the Chartered Insurance Institute and additional qualifications in Business and Administration, which she successfully completed and more recently achieved the accreditation of Fellow (FInstAM) via Institute of Administration Management. Kerry has worked over the years for small/medium brokers gaining wide and varied experience whilst keeping true to being honest, acting in the client’s best interests and striving to change the perception of insurance.
Over the years, Kerry has built up strong relationships with clients, many of whom have been loyal and have been clients for 15/20 years plus, some even went to Chris and Kerry’s wedding! Kerry takes pride in always doing the right thing for clients.
Outside of work, Kerry enjoys watching one of her daughter’s in dance shows and also standing in the cold wet weather watching her other daughter play football!
